Who founded Lake Murray Cruises, LLC.

Ken & Laura Colton started Lake Murray Cruises, LLC in the summer of 2008 when they purchased the Jacksonville Princess. The Coltons moved the ship up the ICW, into the Copper River, then pulled the ship out of the water to remodel.  After cutting the ship in half in order to move it by road to Lake Murray, the ship was reassembled in Irmo.  The Spirit of Lake Murray touched down on the beautiful waters of Lake Murray in late winter of 2009. The Spirit of Lake Murray started there first cruises for hire in May of 2009. Ken & Laura's daughter Sarah had her rehearsal dinner on board early that month. Sarah is a mother of two boys and has a full time job in North Carolina, but comes into town to bartend and help on board from time to time.

The Colton's son Andrew helped remodel the ship senior year of high school at Dutch Fork on the North side of Lake Murray. He attended the University of South Carolina where he completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hospitality & Club Management in May of 2014.  While attending South Carolina Andrew crewed on board the Spirit and helped plan events. Andrew also completed his Captain License and now holds a USCG 100 Ton Masters License.

Along with their talented crew and captains, the Colton's still run Lake Murray Cruises, LLC as a family.

Where is the Spirit of Lake Murray currently located?
